Der IHE Connectathon ist eine einwöchige Veranstaltung, bei der Anwendungssysteme für das Gesundheitswesen auf ihre Interoperabilität getestet werden. Dies ist entscheidend für einen reibungslosen Betrieb im medizinischen Umfeld. Um sicherzustellen, dass die Systeme miteinander kommunizieren können, müssen sie dieselben Standards einhalten und sich entsprechend ihrer Rolle verhalten. Der europäische Connectathon findet dieses Jahr von 3. bis 7. Juni 2024 in Triest statt.
Der IHE-Connectathon dient als Rahmen für diese jährliche Interoperabilitätsprüfung und fungiert als „Testlabor“. Anbieter haben hier die Gelegenheit, ihre Systeme nicht nur in einem vorbereiteten Setting, sondern auch im Zusammenspiel mit anderen zu testen. Hersteller können unter realistischen Bedingungen überprüfen, ob ihre Systeme den IHE-Integrationsprofilen entsprechen, nahtlos mit den Lösungen anderer Anbieter interagieren und somit einsatzbereit sind. Dies ermöglicht eine Begegnung auf Augenhöhe, die selten in dieser Form erlebt wird.
Um sich bereits vorab bestmöglich auf die Veranstaltung vorzubereiten, haben Firmen sowie Anwender die Möglichkeit einen Grundlagenkurs an der Technikum Wien Academy zu absolvieren. Die Technikum Wien Academy bietet als einzige akkreditierte Trainingsanbieterin einen Grundlagenkurs an, der die ideale Vorbereitung für die IHE Foundations Prüfung und die Teilnahme an einer IHE-Connectathon Week ist. The IHE Connectathon is a one-week event where healthcare application systems are tested for their interoperability. This is the fundamental requirement for smooth operation in medical everyday life. To ensure the necessary interoperability, the systems involved must use the same standards and behave according to their respective roles as actors. The European Connectathon will take place this year from June 3rd to 7th, 2024 in Trieste.
The framework for this annual interoperability test is provided by the IHE Connectathon as a “test lab”. The Connectathon offers vendors the opportunity to test their systems not only in a prepared setting but also together with other vendors. Manufacturers can test under realistic conditions to what extent their systems conform to the IHE integration profiles, collaborate smoothly with solutions from other providers, and thus are ready for practical use. This enables an encounter at eye level, which rarely occurs in this form.
To prepare as best as possible for the event in advance, companies as well as users have the opportunity to complete a basic course at the Technikum Wien Academy. Technikum Wien Academy is the only accredited training provider offering a basic course that is the ideal preparation for the IHE Foundations exam and participation in an IHE Connectathon Week. As a certified participant, one can apply the IHE methodology (ISO/TR 28380) and identify and use the corresponding existing IHE profiles.
Depending on prior knowledge and learning speed, participants need about four to six days to complete the course. The exam is then taken online at GASQ.
